Club Profile

The Petitcodiac Sportsman’s Club offers some of the finest ranges in the province.

See, “Range Facilities” for a detailed description of each range.

See, “PSC Committee Summary” for a description of each committee.

Long Gun Range

The Long Gun Committee holds a variety of .22 rimfire and centerfire shoots throughout the year. These events include Benchrest matches, .22 silhouette matches, Cowboy .22 and Lever Action matches, as well as some Fun shoots. The matches are shot generally from 40 -150 yds depending upon the type of match. Twenty-two (.22) Silhouette matches are held weekly on Wednesday nights from May to September.

Archery Range

Once the weather outside improves the 3D archery range is set up and is available most times to the club members.

Air Marksmanship

Skeet Range

The Petitcodiac Sportsman’s Club Skeet range is temporarily closed as plans are in-progress to convert the range to the more popular Trap shooting range.

Handgun Range

The 50 yard Handgun Range is available for handgun shooting throughout the year.

Fishing

The Petitcodiac Sportsman’s Club is also actively supporting projects directed towards the angling and the preservation of our streams, lakes and rivers. The club is affiliated with the Atlantic Salmon Federation supporting a venture called “Fish Friends”. This program involves the Havelock, Petitcodiac, and Salisbury area schools. Through this program the club purchases freshwater aquariums which enables these schools to participate in the Fish Friends Program. This program lends to the enrichment and learning of local children and teens by teaching them the life cycle of the atlantic salmon. In these aquariums they raise Inner Bay of Fundy Atlantic Salmon from eggs which are then released once they have reached the salmon fry stage into the Petitcodiac River System.

Hunter Education / Firearms Safety

The Petitcodiac Sportsman’s Club in conjunction with the Department of Natural Resources and the Province of New Brunswick is involved with hunter education and firearms safety putting on courses periodically.  Please contact Sussex DNR for the next available course.
